A Training Center that builds upon a “higher” tradition

Desert Ice Castle was the natural offspring of the Ice Castle International Training Center located an hour-and-a-half away in Lake Arrowhead, California.  To complement the mountain-based training facility, the owner founded a second ice rink near the desert resort town of Palm Springs, home of verdant golf courses and movie-star getaways.  Cathedral City proved to be the perfect location for an arena to serve the surrounding communities and regions far beyond.  From the September 9, 2011 grand opening skaters hit the ground skating.  Seasoned coaches, led by the legendary Frank Carroll, quickly filled the demand for top-flight instructors, and now Desert Ice Castle is raring to go for its charter training camp.  The ice may be freezing cold, but outside temperatures make the event not too hard to take!

Ice Castle has over 20 years of experience in running training camps at its facility. Over the years, many famous skaters attended and enjoyed our camp life. These skaters took advantage of our intensive training program, developed and improved, both, their training and competitive skills. Skaters such as Michelle Kwan from the early age of 10 till her retirement in 2006, World Champion and 2 time Olympic Bronze Medalist Lu Chen, World Champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist Jeffrey Buttle, World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist Mao Asada and 3 time World Champions and Olympic Gold Medalist Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao.
